Frozen Campuses The Polar Vortex is here now!

My WordPress Blog

Frozen Campuses The Polar Vortex is here now! i am seeing headlines such as: ‘CHICAGO COLDEST EVER! FROSTBITE IN MINUTES! -60° WIND CHILL MINNEAPOLIS.’ Note the all-caps, exclamation-pointed focus. I thought of were the students at the University of Chicago, Northwestern University and all the other campuses over which The Vortex will sweep (and has already swept) this week when I read that headline, the first people.

It isn’t like the regular non-Vortex wintertime hasn’t already caused issues right here in the north climes. Yesterday, I had to produce a death-defying journey over the frozen, icy tundra of my driveway in my own wife’s Honda CR-V. The snowfall and ice addressing my concrete-paved driveway would need a pet D-9 bulldozer to break it loose. Mother Nature is showing no mercy only at the beginning of 2019.

To facilitate my partner’s endeavor to your food store, I relocated her car towards the end of this driveway, that will oftimes be its new parking spot, outside the storage, until all of this ice and snowfall loosens up — ideally by June or July. The air that is outside is hovering simply above zero the 2009 week and for the next three mornings, it’s going to be FROSTBITE IN MINUTES! ‘Just above zero’ reminds me of later comedian George Carlin’s bit since the Hippy Dippy Weatherman. He reported, ‘The heat is zero. No weather today.’

Hence, i have been thinking about cold colleges. For anybody high schoolers trying to find candidate schools to use to this fall, keep in mind that weather is an essential element of your search. If you’re through the south, you may never be enthusiastic about spending the winter months where you could get frostbite in minutes. Conversely, If you are through the north, you may not appreciate needing to take a shower each time you return from class, as a result of the high heat and moisture of one’s southern campus.

Only for grins and giggles ( being a friend of mine always states), then, in light of the perilous Polar Vortex that’s flash-freezing America, we thought i’d do a quick study to discover the coldest campuses in the usa. This may be of interest to both those of you whom love summer and to you skiers around. The previous team should probably avoid these schools. The latter may desire to deliver a software.

These Are the Coldest Campuses

I looked for ‘America’s coldest colleges.’ That took me personally straight away to The Weather Channel’s site as well as its roundup of the 25 Coldest Colleges in united states. Even though article centers around the whole united states continent, I’ll limit my highlights right here to colleges that are in the usa. Turn on your area heater and also have a look at a few of them. I’ve included some basic text from their particular web sites for anyone I have listed.
